Collaborations

The University of Maine at Presque Isle is excited to share unique recreation agreements with other schools and colleges.

High school students who successfully complete the Outdoor Resources program curriculum at Somerset Career and Technical Center in Showkegan Maine can start their college career with 6 earned credits!  What does this mean?  If you have earned your high school diploma, meet the requirements and apply to the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with a concentration in Rereation at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, you are eligible to start your career with six credits.  For more details contact Linda McLaughlin or Mr. Bill Houston at the Somerset Career and Technical Center. 


Students who study Adventure Recreation and Tourism at Washington County Community College located in Calais, Maine, can apply to the UMPI's Business Administration program with the Recreation concentration and have many of their credits transfer in the program.  To see a list of credits that will transfer check out our Transcript Analysis.  Students must apply through our Admissions process but their fee will be waived.  For more details feel free to contact the UMPI Admissions office.


We are also pleased to announce a collaboration with Jack Mountain Bushcraft School located in Masardis, Maine.  Students studying there can transfer credits earned through the field school into the Business Administration program upon acceptance or as a current student. Credits are earned through Western Colorado College and students must apply to both the field school and Western Colorado in order to earn academic credit.
