Make the outdoors your backyard laboratory!
At the University of Maine at Presque Isle, you can take advantage of sustainable education opportunities in three concentration areas within our academic programs.
-
Ecology, Evolution & Biodiversity
Earn your B.A. in Biology with a concentration in Ecology, Evolution and Biodiversity, which will prepare you for biology careers in state or federal government, NGOs, consultants, graduate school, and more.
-
Natural Resources & Environmental Science
Earn a B.S. in Environmental Science and Sustainability with a concentration in Natural Resources which allows you to pursue a wide range of traditional environmental science topics ranging from geology, climate change, wildlife biology, anthropology, and ecology, along with training in GIS and other environmental technologies.
-
Sustainable Agriculture
Earn a B.S. in Environmental Science and Sustainability with a Sustainable Agriculture concentration which combines a basic science foundation and agronomy courses, along with agribusiness courses that will give graduates the range of scientific and business experience needed to succeed in the increasingly complex agricultural workplace.
All of our students have extensive opportunities for hands-on research within and outside the classroom, and there are a number of internships and summer jobs on campus, in local communities, or beyond. If you really want to get hands-on preparation for a career in biology, environmental sciences, or agricultural sciences, UMPI will get you there!
