Fireworks, Star City Syndicate slated for UMPI’s Homecoming 2019

The University of Maine at Presque Isle will present Homecoming 2019: Alumni, Friends, and Family Weekend from Thursday to Sunday, Sept. 26-29, featuring entertainment and family-friendly activities. From a show by fan favorite Star City Syndicate to an explosive fireworks display to multiple games for students and the public, all are invited to join the University for its annual Homecoming weekend.

Reed Art Gallery presents Sandra Huck exhibit

The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Reed Art Gallery presents Letting the Objects Speak: Conversations with Found Objects by Sandra Huck, between Aug. 26 and Oct. 11, 2019. The public is invited to view the exhibition throughout the show’s run and attend the Gallery Reception on Friday, Sept. 6, from 5-7 p.m., which includes a talk with the artist at 5:30 p.m.; light refreshments will be served.

UMFK Nursing BSN sees busy first year at UMPI, doubles slots for Fall 2019

Following a successful first year of the University of Maine at Fort Kent’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program delivered at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, and as part of continued efforts to address the statewide nursing cliff, officials are doubling the number of slots for Fall 2019. The nursing expansion in Presque Isle is part of the University of Maine System commitment to doubling nursing enrollment over the next five years to address the shortage that is expected to grow to 2,700 vacancies by 2025.

Program provides Engineering pathway for UMPI students

Students interested in an Engineering career can now start their studies at the University of Maine at Presque Isle through the University of Maine System’s Maine Engineering Pathways Program. This unique 1+3 degree program offering allows students to complete their first year of engineering education at UMPI, and then finish the remaining three years of their engineering degree at the University of Maine or the University of Southern Maine.
