Mechanical Specialist -Plumber Career Level 3

The University of Maine at Presque Isle is accepting applications for a Mechanical Specialist- Plumber. The successful candidate will perform skilled installation, maintenance and repair work in plumbing. Typical job duties may include:

• Operating hand and power tools associated with the plumbing trade.
• Installing, cleaning and repairing water and waste lines to a wide variety of
  equipment.
• Installing, repairing and periodically testing valves, sump pumps, water circulators
  and backflow preventers.
• Installing, cleaning and repairing underground water and sewage piping.
• Requisitions supplies and materials from stockroom; and orders from vendor.
• Installing and repairing piping for gas, air, vacuum and sprinkler systems; 
  fabricating ductwork and plumbing parts.
• Reading blueprints and piping diagrams.

In addition to responding to a full range of calls for service in the skilled trade, this position also assists in multiple skilled trades work as well as grounds and facility maintenance work. Requirements: High school diploma or GED, Masters Certification in plumbing required. HVAC experience preferred.

This 7am -3:30pm shift position may include weekends and occasional evenings. The hourly rate of pay is $15.55/hour plus an outstanding benefits package. Administrative Specialist Career Level 2

Office of Student Records

The Office of Student Records is looking to fill the position of Administrative Specialist Career Level 2. The Administrative Specialist will be responsible for assisting with front office operations and duties relevant to providing administrative support to the Director including: handling verbal and written communications; responding to inquiries related to student transfer, class enrollments, policy and procedures; scanning and linking documents; maintaining databases and generating queries; and other duties relevant to the administrative support for the Director. In addition, the Specialist will be responsible for processing and analyzing external transcripts and performing degree audits, which includes: identifying courses that transfer from other institutions; determining which courses apply toward a student’s graduation; and performing other related activities.

QUALIFICATIONS: Required: High school diploma and a minimum of two years’ progressively more responsible clerical and administrative experience. Demonstrated excellent communications skills and proven exemplary customer service distinction. Experience with database management, document creation and editing, and the ability to manage complex, non-routine tasks with general supervision are also required. Preferred: Associate’s Degree or higher.

Facilities Maintenance Supervisor Career Level 2

The University of Maine at Presque Isle is accepting applications for a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor CL2. The successful candidate will supervise facilities maintenance staff, plan and coordinate projects; develop work plans; inspect work to ensure conformance with established standards; and monitor compliance. In addition, the Supervisor will engage in duties of grounds activities and maintenance jobs which include repairs and preventative maintenance.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and five years of related work experience with facilities maintenance, including custodial services and/or grounds keeping, with at least 2 years of recent supervisory experience. Valid Maine driver’s license is required.

The typical work schedule will be Monday thru Friday, 7am-3:30pm and may include weekends and occasional evenings. The hourly rate of pay is $17.92/hour plus an outstanding benefits package.
