Instructional Technology and Support Services
Instructional technology is a field of study that provides educators with an in-depth understanding of the integration of technology and pedagogy. In essence, instructional technology attempts to use technology as a means to solve educational challenges, both in the classroom and in distance learning environments. The office of Instructional Technology and Support Services (ITSS) aims to assit campus with technology application and support faculty to develop multimedia instructional materials and online courses. The goal of ITSS is to promote students engagement with learning process by facilitating a technology-enhanced teaching and learning envrionment.
ePortfolio
Electronic Portfolio is not simply a collection of digital documents and artifacts, it must reveal students' critical and reflective thinking. The goal of electronic portfolio initiative is to engage students in a reflective thinking process upon artifacts collection and documentation.
Online Learning
Online learning is a revolutionary concept that changes the way everyone learns. UMPI online courses are designed to meet the uprising needs of students. Our goal is to advance the development of multimedia instructional materials, engage students in the learning process by providing them with a flexible yet challenging environment.
Multimedia Resources
As technology advances and improves, it becomes more feasible to integrate multimedia directly into classroom activities and online learning environment. The resources center is a place for faculty to share ideas for multimedia materials development and content delivery.
Workshops
ITSS organizes a variety of workshops to encourage and enable faculty to apply technology-enhanced approaches to their own discipline contents.
