The Boys and Girls Club of Presque Isle and the University of Maine at Presque Isle Student Activities Office will be hosting a basketball tournament for UMPI students and the local community for suicide awareness. September is World Suicide Awareness Month. This tournament brings together youth and young adults to raise awareness and promote suicide prevention. It will be Saturday, Sept. 30 at 1 p.m. in Gentile Hall. Team check-ins are 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Go to www.pi-bgc.org and click on the 3 on 3 tournament quick link to register. Registration is free. The first 50 participants registered will receive shirts, bags, and metal water bottles and there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
