TRIO Upward Bound has openings for this summer for girls Residence Hall Counselor/Tutors (C/T), boys Residence Hall Counselor/Tutors (C/T), and an Assistant Residence Director (Ass’t. RD). June 13 – 17 is staff training week (move in June 12) and the summer program goes from June 19 – July 29. Applicants for all positions must be a college junior, senior or graduate with a strong academic record (2.5 minimum GPA), a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record for at least three years. Preference will be given to candidates who have prior experience as a Resident Assistant or a camp counselor, and candidates should be 21 years or older by mid-June (in order to drive University vehicles). The salary for Counselor/Tutors is $2,450 and the salary for the Assistant Residence Director is $3,000 and room and board is included. You will work with an awesome group of high school students who have some barriers to overcome to successfully complete high school and be ready to undertake the rigors of a college education. You will tutor, mentor, travel with them, supervise their dorm experience and generally have a rewarding summer experience.
