The UMPI Women’s Basketball Team was one of a few groups selected this winter to receive the Dunkin Donuts CommUNITY Coffee Club Fundraiser for the 2018 year. In the past, this fundraiser has been done with the sale of DD Community Mugs, but this year, involved Dunkin Donuts gift cards–each card allows the holder to receive a free medium coffee or iced coffee every Sunday of the 2018 year. The team received 150 of these gift cards and was able to sell them for $20 each. According to Coach Gavin Kane, the fundraiser was an absolute success, with the team selling out all of its cards in just over a week. They raised a total of $3,000–the money is earmarked for the UMPI Women’s Basketball travel gear and for the team to be able to play in a pre-season or holiday tournament out of state. Congratulations to the team on its successful fundraiser!
