The University of Maine at Presque Isle has a long history of preparing graduates to serve the needs of northern Maine. Founded as a teacher's college in the early 1900s, UMPI has evolved into a comprehensive university providing quality professional programs built upon a solid foundation in the arts, sciences, and humanities. We strive to offer the best education available in northern Maine and nearby Canada and aspire to be the flagship University of Maine campus in Northern Maine.
