Transcript Requests

How to Order an Official Transcript

There are now three ways to acquire a copy of your transcript:

In MaineStreet
Current and recently active students may request an official copy of their transcript through the Student Center in MaineStreet by selecting "Official Transcript" in the "other academic..." drop down box shown under the "Academics" area.  This is the preferred method of requesting an official transcript.  The benefits of requesting an official transcript through MaineStreet are:

  • No signature is required
  • Faster processing
  • Requests can be made at any time of day, 7 days a week
  • No postage required
  • No need to hassle with a fax machine

In Person
Visit our office at 235 Preble Hall with photo identification to obtain copies of your transcript.  Transcripts can be mailed, or you can pick them up at a later date.

By Mail or by Fax
You can use our downloadable Transcript Request Form (PDF) (requires the use of Adobe Acrobat Reader) which you print, fill out, and SIGN

or

You can send us a written request that includes the following information:

  • Full Name (please include your maiden name, if applicable, or any other name used while attending the University)
  • EmplID (do not use Social Security #) or date of birth
  • Email address or Daytime Telephone Number in the event we need to contact you.
  • Dates of Attendance
  • A complete address to send the transcript to
  • Signature and Date

The completed transcript request form or written request can be mailed to University of Maine at Presque Isle; Office of Student Records, 181 Main Street, Presque Isle, ME 04769 or it can be faxed to (207) 768-9458

Additional information about transcript ordering:

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 requires that all transcript requests be in writing, signed and dated by the person to whom the record belongs. Telephone and e-mail requests CANNOT be accepted. There is no fee for transcripts; but there is a limit of ten transcripts per request. (The Office of Student Records reserves the right to limit unreasonable requests.)

Upon receipt of the written request, official transcripts are normally mailed within seven to ten business days. Processing of your official transcript request may vary due to circumstances beyond our control. The Office of Student Records makes every effort to speed these important documents to your intended recipients.

Official transcripts cannot be faxed; however, we can fax your unofficial transcript, but still require a written transcript request. In lieu of a mailing address, please provide a return fax number.

Definitions:

Unofficial transcripts are merely copies of the transcript with no stamp or seal, usually used in house or by the student for personal use.

Official transcripts are transcripts in a sealed envelope that have the Director of Student Record's signature and the raised University Seal. The envelope is not to be opened until it reaches its official destination.

Please note: University policy prohibits issuing official transcripts to any student indebted to the University. The issuance of partial transcripts is also strictly prohibited.
