Attending college means big changes and new responsibilities. Good health is essential to your academic success and adequate insurance provides the opportunity to receive quality health care. Unexpected medical bills may interfere with your ability to complete your education should you be uninsured or have inadequate coverage. That’s why the University of Maine at Presque Isle requires students to have health insurance coverage.
All registered students taking nine or more credit hours are automatically enrolled in this insurance plan at registration, unless proof of comparable coverage is furnished by the waiver deadline. The waiver deadline for the Fall semester is October 1st, February 20th for the Spring semester’s new students. Students enrolled in less than 9 credit hours are not eligible to enroll in the health insurance program. In addition, no coverage is available for a student’s dependents. To enroll in, and receive, your insurance ID card earlier than the waiver deadline date, or request to waive coverage, go to www.CrossAgency.com/UM.
