To best serve students participating in personalized learning, the University has created an Innovative Teaching Fellows Program. Innovative Teaching Fellows are UMPI faculty members who are specially trained in personalized learning techniques proven to result in deep, lasting learning. These techniques include problem-based, project learning, allowing students “voice and choice” in their education, collaborative learning, and engaging students in the production of knowledge through original research.

Innovative Teaching Fellows are adept at engaging multiple learning styles, inspiring student ownership of learning, and incorporating technologically innovative methods into the classroom, all of which result in greater student perseverance and success.
