Enrichment Activities
Table française: students meet informally with the faculty member to chat in French once a week during the lunch hour. The idea is to be able to communicate in French, not to be perfect. Any level is welcome!
Club français: The club organizes activities such as French movies-to name a few, Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulin with Audrey Tautou, and Chocolat with Juliette Binoche-, and one day outings to French-speaking New Brunswick. In the past we have gone to Quebec City for a long weekend; and two years in a row we went to the Salon du Livre d'Edmundston, a giant French book fair. We organized a Mardi Gras party with French music by a DJ, and a Christmas party. Any student is welcome to become a member, even if he/she is not enrolled in a French course.
Magazines: The UMPI library subscribes to two French language magazines, L'Actualité from Quebec, and L'Express from France.
