Crime Report

If a member of the University community has reason to believe that a student who resides in on-campus housing is missing, he or she should immediately notify the Office of Safety and Security (207) 768-9580 or the Residence Life Office at (207) 768-9560. Following the receipt of a call a missing person report will be generated and an investigation will be initiated.

In addition to registering an emergency contact, students residing in on-campus housing have the option to identify confidentially an individual to be contacted in case of an emergency.  If a student has identified such an individual, The Coordinator of Safety and Security or the a representative of the Residence Life Office will notify that individual no later than 24 hours after the student is determined to be missing. Students who wish to identify a confidential contact can do so on their housing contract or they may submit the information to the Residence Life Office in the Emerson Hall Annex.

Should it be determine that the student is missing and has been missing for more than 24 hours, the University will notify the Presque Isle Police Department, the Maine State Police, and the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office. The student’s emergency contact will be notified no later than 24 hours after the student is determined to be missing.
