The University of Maine at Presque Isle is committed to sharing information about our wind turbine with area residents, the people of Maine, and all others who want to know where a sustainable energy project can take them.
University officials partnered with the turbine’s manufacturer, the general contractor and Honeywell Corporation to create a first-of-its-kind online program that displays important, up-to-the-minute data points about UMPI’s turbine – such as the latest wind speed figures and power generation in kilowatt-hours – all in one spot, for public use, on this website.
Because this program is new, there are a limited number of data points available at this time, but as officials refine this program, more data points will be added. If you notice a problem with the page, please report it to the Webmaster.
Please note that the information on our Live Wind Data page is not up to date at this time. The server responsible for publishing data from the wind turbine has suffered a hard drive failure. We are attempting to recover the data so we can return the page to its proper working condition. Thank you for your patience as we work to get our page back up and running.
