Safe Homes Aroostook, which is a combination of the Hope & Justice Project and the Homeless Shelter of Aroostook is holding its 4th Annual Safe Homes 5K run/walk on Sunday, May 1, starting at Gentile Hall. Registration will start at Noon and the race will start at 1 p.m. There will be activities in Gentile Hall for kids during the event. Event workers will be staff members from the two non-profit groups and UMPI student volunteers. The cost is $20 per person and everyone who pre-registers online by April 17 will get a free t-shirt.
