UMPI will once again serve as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site. VITA offers free tax help to people who cannot afford paid professional assistance. Volunteers, trained in tax law and certified by the IRS, help prepare basic tax returns for low-income tax-payers. VITA assistance will be available in the Campus Center, Room 118 on Saturdays beginning Feb. 4 and running until April 15, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. FMI, contact Mike Ayers at 896-5839.
