COVID-19 Testing at UMPI

UMPI uses T3 asymptomatic testing as part of our COVID-19 testing efforts. We’ve set up this page to help walk you through the process. Please note that our Houlton Higher Education Center will continue to use Vault testing.

To participate in your saliva-based screening, you will need to visit umaineportal.pointnclick.com.

This portal is the most convenient, most secure, and most direct tool for managing your COVID-19 testing. You will use this portal to:

  • Schedule your testing
  • Find available testing locations
  • Check in at your testing location
  • Receive your test results

The UMS COVID-19 testing portal supports Single-Sign-On, meaning you should be able to log in with your @maine.edu email address and password.

Once you have logged in, you’ll be able to access your information. Don’t worry–there will be testing helpers on site if you have any questions during this process.

What we need from you is clear

The Shield T3 COVID-19 asymptomatic test requires a 1 milliliter to 1.5 milliliter saliva sample.

  • Do not eat, drink or smoke, chew gum, brush your teeth or use mouthwash within an hour of your test. When in doubt, don’t put it in your mouth in the 60 minutes before you test.

  • Be sure to hydrate with water. Stop drinking water 60 minutes before test time.
  • Clear saliva samples are required. Samples can’t be discolored, cloudy or contaminated with food particles.
  • Bring your smartphone.

If you need any further information, please connect with our new COVID-19 Testing Coordinator Leslie Brown at leslie.brown@maine.edu or 207-768-9523.

Despite efforts to minimize risks, the University cannot categorically guarantee that any person entering University campuses or facilities will not contract COVID-19 or any other communicable disease and any such person must assess and accept the risks of illness or injury for themselves.
