The University’s Physical Education Advisory Group headed by the Coordinator of the PET program, and occupied by several local teachers meets each semester to talk about ways to improve the program and to select the next workshop title. Our goal is to provide Physical Education Teachers the information on upcoming professional development opportunities hosted by the University of Maine at Presque Isle.

Adaptive Physical Education
This Keynote address was given by Dr. Tim Davis, Ph.D.  (see Bio) to lead off the Adapted Physical Education workshop hosted by UMPI on September 27, 2019.  Dr. Davis spoke about the key issues related to the inclusion of students with disabilities into regular physical education classes.  His passion is well documented as he shares with Physical Educators fun and meaningful ways to include any child with a disability into a physical education class by making small but appropriate modifications.
