Everything this campus has built and every student who has walked across our stage reflects the generosity of the broader UMPI family: alumni, faculty, staff, and friends who believe in what we’re doing here. That spirit goes back to our very founding, when local citizens donated money and land to establish the Aroostook State Normal School. It’s still alive today, most recently in the Zillman family’s historic $2.1 million gift, the largest single gift in our campus’ history. Your gift, at any level, carries that legacy forward.

Dec. 16, 2025: Jim Munch of Bangor, executor of the Donald and Linda Zillman estate, presents a $2.1 million gift from the estate to Raymond Rice, president of the University of Maine at Presque Isle, for the campus. It is the largest single gift in the campus’ history.
