UMPI welcomes new employees to campus

The University of Maine at Presque Isle is welcoming four new employees at the start of the Spring 2015 semester.

Pam Easler continues her service to the University in a new capacity, as the administrative specialist for the College of Arts and Sciences. She previously served in the TRiO Upward Bound office. She came to the University with experience in customer service, business management, and as a health center administrative assistant at Northern Maine Community College. Easler earned her Associate in Applied Science degree from NMCC in 2013.

Richard Howlett joins the University’s Physical Plant as a Facilities maintenance worker. He most recently worked as a service manager for a local auto sales firm. He also has owned his own transmission and auto business and worked for MPG Truck & Tractor.

John Greenier also joins the University’s Physical Plant as a Facilities maintenance worker. He most recently served as a crew leader for Caron’s Property Maintenance. He also has served in general construction and as a water plant operator, and is the owner of Greenier’s Property Maintenance. He earned his Commercial Driver’s License from Northern Maine Technical College.

Sara Shaw joins the University as the new head Softball Coach. A 2008 graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington, Shaw possesses a wealth of softball coaching and strength and conditioning experience, including a stint as the assistant softball and basketball coach at UMPI in 2010. Shaw is the owner of FitLife Personal Fitness Training, where she develops fitness programs for a wide range of clients, and the co-owner of Northern Athletic Supply in Presque Isle. She was most recently the Director of Parks and Recreation for the Town of Limestone from 2012 to 2014. Previously, she was employed at Central Maine Community College in Auburn, where she wore a number of hats including: Assistant Athletic Director, Resident Director, Sports Information Director, Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach, and the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Women’s Basketball Team. She has also been employed as a Health and Science Teacher with MSAD #58, where she was the Head Varsity Softball Coach for Mt. Abram High School.
