Anna Vinton introduced R and talked about how AI tools can help with coding and research. No experience needed — this is meant to demystify R, not dive into the deep end.
The goal was to get folks comfortable enough to eventually teach simple R modules in their courses, or to start using R in their own research — but this is just the first step.
The plan:
- Talk about why R is useful for data analysis in the sciences
- Get R and RStudio installed on your laptop
- Walk through some basics so you can see how it works
- Share my plans for modules I’ll be developing over the summer that will bring coding and AI tools into our Gen Ed science courses
