BIO:
Artist Frank Sullivan hails from Marlborough, Massachusetts, located 20 miles west of Boston. He earned his BA in Visual Arts at the College of the Holy Cross. As a member of the Fine Arts faculty at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, Frank teaches courses in the BFA Painting and Drawing concentration. Continuing his education, Frank pursued a Fellowship in the Graduate Fine Arts program at The American University, specializing in Printmaking, and later studied Graphic Design and Illustration at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. In 2005, he transitioned from his career as a graphic designer and illustrator to fully embrace his artistic practice, converting an old potato barn on his property in northern Maine into an art studio and gallery.
Frank has exhibited his work extensively in solo exhibitions and group shows throughout Maine, Massachusetts, and other parts of the US, with hundreds of his works hanging in private collections. In 2024, he published a book titled Images & Words, featuring images of 31 of his paintings accompanied by short essays about his creative process.
