BIO:

Mr. Reed Nonken is an Associate Professor of Business at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, bringing more than 18 years of teaching experience in business and criminal justice. He has played a central role in program development at UMPI, including the creation of new graduate-level degrees and initiatives in competency-based education designed to align academics with industry needs. Before transitioning to higher education, Mr. Nonken held senior leadership positions in information technology, operations, and supply chain management with multinational organizations in aerospace, biotechnology, retail, and manufacturing. His career highlights include leading enterprise system implementations, global operational improvements, and cost-reduction programs that delivered measurable results. Alongside his academic and industry experience, Mr. Nonken has served for over 20 years as a certified law enforcement officer and instructor with the Maine Criminal Justice Academy. He holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Criminal Justice Administration from Husson University, as well as a Master of Arts in Ethics from North Carolina State University. Active in community service, he serves on multiple advisory boards and volunteers with statewide student competitions and local nonprofit organizations.
