BIO
Sam Swallow is an Assistant Professor of Human Physiology and PhD candidate with a passion for teaching anatomy and physiology and helping students understand the remarkable relationship between structure and function in the human body. Her scholarly interests center on women’s exercise physiology, skeletal muscle health, and individual variability in exercise and recovery. She is passionate about advancing the understanding of female physiology and expanding opportunities for students to participate in meaningful scientific research. Outside of academia, Sam is a competitive bodybuilder and advocate for evidence-based strength training and nutrition. Her experiences in teaching, research, and bodybuilding fuel her interest in bridging human physiology with practical application and promoting lifelong health through strength, movement, and education.
