One thousand two hundred and seventy-eight students graduated from the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Saturday, May 10, during the University’s 2025 Commencement Exercises—more than double the number of students who graduated last year and, for the second year in a row, the largest-ever graduating class in the institution’s history.
University of Maine at Presque Isle President Ray Rice has announced that Yellow Light Breen, President and CEO of the Maine Development Foundation (MDF), will deliver the commencement address. Bold Frontiers: The Intersection of Creativity and Innovation is the theme of the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s 22nd annual University Day, taking place on Wednesday, April 16, and students will be showcasing that theme in presentations on everything from exploring how movement is expressed in video games using code to the impact of social isolation on older adults.
The University of Maine at Presque Isle will present Owen McCarthy, co-founder of MedRhythms and leader in neurotherapeutics, as a 2024-2025 Libra Distinguished Lecture Series speaker on Tuesday, April 15 at 7 p.m. in the Campus Center. McCarthy will deliver a talk titled Harnessing Technology, Music, and Neuroscience to Transform Healthcare: The MedRhythms Story.
