UMPI presents Homecoming 2025

The University of Maine at Presque Isle will present Homecoming 2025 from Sept. 25 to 28, featuring sporting events, the Snowy Owl Marketplace, a Tap Truck and Food Truck Festival, a Golf Scramble hosted by the Class of 1975, a performance of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown by the County Community Players, and much more! Festivities will again include Spirit Week activities, with a different theme each day between Sept. 22 and 26: Blue Day, Gold Day, Major Day, UMPI Sport Day, and Memories Day. All are encouraged to post photos on social media and use the “#umpispiritweek2025” hashtag.

On Thursday, Sept. 25, during the UMPI Invitational, UMPI Men’s Golf will compete against Saint Joseph’s College at the Presque Isle Country Club. Tee time is 10 a.m. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., a Spirit Spin activity will be on offer at the Campus Center. The Community Bonfire behind Merriman Hall and Pickleball Tournament at the tennis courts will be underway from 6 to 9 p.m. All are invited to enjoy s’mores and cheer on the pickleball competitors.

On Friday, Sept. 26, as a special collaboration between UMPI alumni and Undergraduate Admissions, Homecoming Alumni Tours will take place at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 12 p.m. These guided tours, which will allow participants to see how UMPI has changed over the years or experience it for the first time, will depart from the Campus Center. Those who RSVP will receive a small commemorative gift to take home. That afternoon, enjoy a Popcorn & Paint event at 1 p.m. in the Campus Center Owl’s Nest. All alumni, family, and friends are encouraged to attend the President’s Reception and All Class Reunion, from 6-10 p.m. at the Campus Center Multi-Purpose Room (MPR). The evening, complete with hors d’oeuvres, music, and a cash bar (21 and older with proper ID) will celebrate graduates from all class years, with a special tribute to the Class of 1975, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Event-goers are highly encouraged to RSVP for this event.

Events kick off on Saturday, Sept. 27, with a Golf Scramble hosted by the Class of 1975. Those interested in participating should contact Paul J. Bouchard, Class of 1975, at pbouch@roadrunner.com. Another round of Homecoming Alumni Tours will be available at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 12 p.m., departing from the Campus Center. Alumni Baseball and Softball games will get underway at Presque Isle High School, 9 to 11 a.m. at the baseball field and 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the softball field, respectively. The Snowy Owl Marketplace returns to Gentile Hall from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. with a full slate of crafters, artisans, and more. Concurrently, a brand new event, the Tap Truck & Food Truck Festival will be set up from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Tennis Court Parking Lot. Nearby at the Park Family Field, the UMPI Owls will play NVU Johnson in back-to-back soccer games—the Men’s team plays at 1 p.m., the Women’s team at 3:30 p.m.

That evening, the Athletics Hall of Fame Dinner takes place at 5:30 p.m. in the Campus Center MPR. Tickets are $35 per person, payable at the door. After the dinner, the party moves to Rodney’s at 436 Main, located at the Northeastland Hotel, for a Night Owl Gathering. Rodney’s is offering extended hours for UMPI alumni, family, and friends until 11 p.m., with appetizers available for order until 10 p.m. Also that evening, the County Community Players present You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown at 7 p.m. in the Gauvin Family Center for Cultural Arts, located in Wieden Hall. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children, and free for UMPI students with proper ID. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Festivities cap off on Sunday, Sept. 15 with an Alumni and Student Sunday Brunch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Kelley Commons. Waffles, bacon, custom omelets, fruit, yogurt, muffins, and more will be on offer, and the chef, pizza, and sandwich stations will also be open. Cost is $10 (plus tax) per person. Another round of competition will get underway at the Park Family Field, with Men’s (12 p.m.) and Women’s (2:30 p.m.) soccer games vs. NVU Johnson. In Wieden Gymnasium, Women’s Volleyball will take on Fisher College with games at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. At 2 p.m. in Wieden Hall, the County Community Players present a matinee showing of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown at the Gauvin Family Center for Cultural Arts. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children, and free for UMPI students with proper ID. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.

Owl’s Nest and Spirit Store hours during Homecoming are: Monday-Friday (Sept. 22-26), 7 a.m.-10 p.m.; Saturday (Sept. 27), 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
