The University of Maine at Presque Isle is welcoming eight new staff members this Spring 2026 semester.
Katie Cox is a new Digital Content Specialist for the Marketing and Communications Office. She received a bachelor of arts degree in new media from the University of Maine. She most recently worked as the Digital Operations Coordinator for VideoRequest and previously was a Marketing Officer at the University of New Brunswick.
Caleb Lovejoy is a new Graphic Designer in the Marketing and Communications Office. He earned his bachelor’s degree in art from UMPI in May 2025 and previously served as an intern and work-study student in the Marketing and Communications Office.
Carl McKinney is a new Facilities Maintenance Worker. He previously worked as a Shelter Advocate for Homeless Services of Aroostook and as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Presque Isle Rehab and Nursing Center.
Jon Perry is a new Digital Content Specialist for the Marketing and Communications Office. He most recently launched his own video production company, Wilderness Film, and previously worked as a Training Support Specialist for CACI International. He earned a bachelor of arts in Emergency and disaster management from American Military University.
Sarah Stackhouse is UMPI’s new Senior Associate Director of Student Employment and Personnel Management in the Student Financial Services office. She previously served as Director of Admissions and Outreach for Northern Maine Community College and Director of Student Activities, Athletics, and Transportation at the Maine School of Science and Mathematics. She earned her bachelor’s degree in environmental studies from UMPI in 2011 and her master’s degree in business administration from Husson University in 2022.
Katrina St. Jean is a new Facilities Maintenance Worker. She most recently worked for B&P Cleaners as a custodian at Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital.
Tammy Thompson is a new Administrative Specialist for Facilities. She worked for over a decade at Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital in Presque Isle, first as a Materials Specialist and then as an Operations Specialist.
Janel Carol Underwood-Charette is UMPI’s new Counselor for Student Support Services. She earned her master’s degree in social work from the University of New England and most recently worked for Northern Light Acadia Hospital and Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital as an Integrated Behavioral Health Clinician. In addition to these new faculty and staff, two familiar faces have accepted new positions: Payton Jones, YourPace Enrollment and Academic Success Coach; and Shawn McPherson, Admissions Operations Manager and CRM Administrator.
