A Professional Development Short Course for People who are Young in their Careers

Looking for the skills that will bring you long-term success in your career? Then this professional development opportunity is exactly what you’ve been looking for. Hosted by the University of Maine at Presque Isle and MMG Insurance, and supported by Cary Medical Center, Katahdin Trust Company, and Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital, the Young Professionals Institute helps participants hone their professional skills through hands-on activities, on-the-spot public speaking assignments, and business simulation exercises.

Year 13 – The 2020 Institute

This year’s theme is 20/20 Vision: Focused on Leadership¬†and will feature an exciting line-up of activities, projects, and special guests connected with the skills and abilities today’s employers are looking for in prospective employees and candidates for advancement. Classes will be held on February 26, March 4, 11, 18, and 25, & April 1, 8, and 15 2020.

Classes generally will take place on Wednesdays from 4-6 p.m. in the UMPI Campus Center. However, during one of the sessions, participants will travel to MMG Insurance to complete on-site business simulation exercises as part of an expanded class.
