Aroostook County residents gathered at the UMPI Campus Center on Saturday, October 12th for the 2nd Annual Kiwanis Gala. The Gala served as the official kickoff for the 72nd Annual Rotary Auction, and raised money for weather shelters for the Going Places Network’s new PI LOOP fixed bus service, as well as other local Kiwanis and Rotary charities. The formal event included dinner consisting of a variety of food stations, a Super Draw with a grand prize of $5,000, dancing, and an auction that raised over $3,000 for various charities. This marks the 3rd consecutive year in which the Kiwanis Club of Presque Isle and the PI Rotary Club collaborated to raise funds for a Community Project.
