Our Plan in Brief

If you’re looking for a quick overview before you check out the plan itself, here are the top 6 things you need to know:

  1. We plan to start classes on Jan. 18 and provide on-campus offerings through May 7. The first week of classes will be taught remotely to ensure the safety of in person instruction.

  2. Multi-layer face coverings are required indoors and eating in shared spaces should be minimized in order to maximize the time face coverings are worn.

  3. All students must comply with the UMS vaccine mandate by 1/18/22 in order to attend class or participate in on campus activities. This includes uploading vaccine card information on the UMS online portal or a completed official exemption form

  4. We will conduct COVID-19 asymptomatic testing weekly, starting in January, for those who are exempted and those who are not yet fully vaccinated and will be on-campus for classes, work, or daily living. Others are encouraged to take part in voluntary weekly testing. Starting Feb. 1, students with on-campus experiences who are not up to date with their COVID-19 vaccine shots (including any booster doses when eligible) will be required to participate in weekly asymptomatic testing. Get Testing Center hours.

  5. Classes will be a mix of live, online, and hybrid–simultaneously in-person and virtual.

  6. Health safety practices will continue to be in place, including deep cleaning and testing.

We want to emphasize that these are our plans right now, but that, due to the nature of this pandemic, all plans are subject to change.
