Presque Isle Historical Society offering tours

Guided Walking Tours of Presque Isle offered
The Presque Isle Historical Society will offer guided walking tours of historic downtown Presque Isle with the first one being held April 27. The tour will start at 10 a.m. at the Vera Estey House, 16 Third St., Presque Isle. The tours last approximately two hours and covers two miles. On-street parking is available. Reservations are suggested and the cost is $2 per person.

Guided Tours of the 1875 Vera Estey House Museum
The Presque Isle Historical Society will offer a one-hour tour of the museum on April 27, at 1 p.m. The house is located at 16 Third St., Presque Isle. Tickets are $5 each and spots are limited. On-street parking is available.

Guided Walking Tours of Historic Fairmount Cemetery
A guided walking tour of historic Fairmount Cemetery will be offered on May 10 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Civil War Monument in Fairmount Cemetery on US Route 1. Hear the history of the cemetery, about its Victorian influences and the stories of some of Presque Isle’s interesting historical figures interred within. Tickets are $5 each and reservations are suggested. Parking is available across the street at the Chamber of Commerce.

Narrated City-Wide Historic Tours
A city-wide historic tour aboard Molly the Trolley will be offered on May 11, beginning at 9 a.m. and starting at the Historic Fire Station, 11 Church St., Presque Isle. The tour lasts approximately 3 hours and the cost is $5 per person and reservations are required (minimum of 5 reservations required for trolley trip to be “a Go”).
