Wintergreen Arts Center and Katahdin Trust Company will present the running of the Wintergreen Express on Dec. 13, 14, and 15. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at www.wintergreenarts.org/wordpress/wintergreen-express-tickets/ or by calling 207-762-3576 or stopping by Wintergreen Arts Center at 149 State St. in Presque Isle. With the purchase of a round trip golden ticket, passengers can climb aboard the Presque Isle Historical Society’s Molly the Trolley, which magically transforms into the Wintergreen Express for the event. As the conductor punches tickets, riders enjoy a special holiday trip to the North Pole (Wintergreen) where Santa’s Elves serve hot cocoa and sing songs. Everyone gets to decorate sugar cookies, visit with Santa, and take home a jingle bell souvenir. Rides are intended for children ages 10 and under. All children must be accompanied by at least one ticketed adult. Time of departure is to be selected when purchasing tickets. Trolley departs every 20 minutes from UMPI’s Gentile Hall from 5 to 8:40 p.m. on Friday, 4 to 8:40 p.m. on Saturday, and 4 to 7:40 p.m. on Sunday. All tickets are round trip from UMPI to Wintergreen and back to UMPI.
