Hosted by the University of Maine at Presque Isle and MMG Insurance, and supported by Cary Medical Center, Katahdin Trust Company, and Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital, the Young Professionals Institute helps participants hone their professional skills through hands-on activities, on-the-spot public speaking assignments, and business simulation exercises.

YPI 2024

This year’s theme is Leadership Lessons from the Midway. Elevate your professional skills in a transformative experience where the thrill of the midway meets the art of leadership. You’ll learn about communication, time management, and agility, and take part in a deeper exploration of remote teamwork, technology and AI advancements, and intercultural relations.

YPI 2024 will feature an exciting line-up of activities, projects, and special guests connected with the skills and abilities today’s employers are looking for in prospective employees and candidates for advancement. Classes will be held on Wednesdays, Feb. 28 through April 24 on the UMPI campus; most sessions will take place from 4-6 p.m., but the finale will be held from 4-7 p.m. Participants are expected to attend all sessions.
