Virtual Homecoming 2020

Welcome to UMPI Virtual Homecoming 2020!

September 14th – 20th

Please note, that information on this schedule may change. Welcome to the schedule for UMPI’s Virtual Homecoming. In consideration of the safety of our campus community, this year’s homecoming will be entirely online.  Many of our in-person events, including the Hall of Fame, have been postponed until next fall when we hope to gather again with you on campus.

09.04.2020 Over the next few days, links to event video conferencing will appear as homecoming week gets closer. We will also be announcing events as part of the new Owl Year Long celebration of the UMPI community during homecoming week. You’ll be able to connect with campus throughout the year as we work together to support those on campus and each other.

Homecoming is produced by a team of volunteers: Racquel Bergeron, Barb Blackstone, Laurie Boucher, Craig Cormier (co-chair) Sarah Coyer, Stacey Emery, Dan Kane, Lydia Kieffer, Sandy McDougal, Joe Moir, Monique Nadeau, Danielle Pelkey, Rachel Rice, Ray Rice, Deb Roark, Judy Roe, Sharon Roix, Lisa Smith (co-chair), and Fred Thomas.

1. Meet and greet the members.
2. We will introduce the first book to the club members:
Dare to Lead by Brene Brown
(Dare to Lead is the bible for courage-building in the workplace.
Leaders and teams alike face serious problems showing up vulnerable at work;
instead, they sabotage themselves, killing innovation and creativity.
This book is about owning your fears, choosing courage over comfort and whole hearts over armor,
and building an organizational culture based on bravery and vulnerability)
3. Talk about the general agendas for the meetings going forward
This club is open to everyone!
You can email Lisa Smith or Barb Blackstone of your interest in attending or just pop into the Zoom on Tuesday evening. lisa.m.smith@maine.edu or barbara.blackstone@maine.edu
