HODGDON – Donald J. Oliver, 88, passed away on November 20, 2018. He was born July 21, 1930, in Cary, ME, to Omar and Virginia (Knapp) Oliver.
He married Judith McBrine in 1955. They were married for 62 years until her passing in 2017.

Donald graduated from Hodgdon High School, earned a B.S in education at Aroostook Teacher’s College in Presque Isle, and received his Masters in education from the University of Maine at Orono. After teaching in Presque Isle and Houlton, he became the principal of Hodgdon High School before retiring in 1978. During his retirement he worked in the woods industry and operated a vegetable farm in Haynesville with Judy.

Donald is survived by his sons and their wives, Joel and Lynn Oliver, Matthew and Lee-Rae Oliver; his grandchildren, Britta, Dylan, Walker, Anna, and Wyatt Oliver; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Oliver and Mary-Jane Chick. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Judy; his parents; and his brother, Roger Oliver.

A graveside service will be held for Donald and Judith Oliver in the spring at the Haynesville Cemetery.
