Where will your wings take you?

“My wings have taken me from journalism to higher education to healthcare. I serve as the Director of Advancement at TAMC (The Aroostook Medical Center), the largest employer and non-profit organization in northern Maine. I also have 14 years of experience in higher education, having worked at both Northern Maine Community College and the University of Maine at Fort Kent. I am a former Executive Director of the Greater Madawaska Chamber of Commerce and began my professional career as a reporter for WAGM-TV.
The University of Maine at Presque Isle was the perfect choice for me. I have always wanted to make a positive difference in my community and selecting UMPI to pursue my bachelor’s degree provided the opportunity to not only stay here in The County, but to stay involved. I was able to live what I learned in the classroom by engaging in opportunities, both on and off campus, that allowed me to pursue my passion. I credit the faculty and staff at UMPI with not only providing those opportunities, but also providing the nurturing and supportive environment I needed to succeed. The high quality, yet affordable cost of my UMPI education coupled with the support of my family, allowed me to begin my professional life with no college debt and a wealth of experience that served as the foundation for my career.”
