UMPI Marketing & Communications

The Marketing and Communications Office at the University of Maine at Presque Isle works to increase both the campus’s visibility and an understanding of the work its faculty, staff, and students conduct in the community, the state and beyond. Our goal is to share–in publications, on the web, through promotional efforts, and with local, state, and national media–this institution’s commitment to excellence in education and service to community.

This office also oversees the University’s visual identity as it is presented to the public through the materials we publish, the advertising we create, and the digital media we produce. This office handles the release of news to the media, oversees the University’s monthly newsletter, the image, and its weekly news bulletin, On The Fly, maintains the University’s official social media pages, and coordinates media visits to campus.

What We Do

Public Relations & Media

We collaborate with local and national news outlets to spotlight the accomplishments of students, faculty, and the institution. From press releases to story pitches, we manage the University’s public narrative.

Branding and Identity Management

We oversee the use of UMPI’s logos, color palette, typography, and visual identity. Departments can consult our office for help maintaining brand consistency across campaigns and materials.

Marketing and Strategy Support

Our office works with academic and administrative units to plan, create, and launch marketing campaigns that align with strategic goals, particularly around enrollment and outreach.

Internal Communications

We provide guidance and coordination for important campus messaging, helping UMPI maintain a strong and cohesive internal culture.

Social Media & Web Presence

We maintain UMPI’s main social media accounts and provide strategic guidance to departments managing their own. We also support the University’s digital storytelling through web content updates and development.
