How to Apply to UMPI

We have designed our application process to be as straight-forward and simple as possible.  Please use the steps below to help guide you through the process:

Applications by Student Type

The type of student you are determines which application you should fill out.

Traditional Student Application:

If you are a traditional student use either the ApplyMaine Application or the Common App.

Competency-based YourPace Student Application:

If you are a YourPace Student, please use either the Undergraduate or Graduate application.

First-Time Students

Provide official high school transcript.

Transfer Students

Provide official transcripts from all colleges and universities you’ve attended. (If you do not have 60 earned and transferable credits, you must also provide your high school transcripts.)

YourPace Students – 1 simple step:

  • For Bachelor’s degree programs, choose the Apply YourPace Undergrad button.
  • For the Master’s degree program, choose the Apply Grad button.

Once you have submitted your completed application, we may request additional materials such as an essay or request that you come to an interview.

All courses in the YourPace Program are delivered in English, and students are required to submit all coursework, both written and oral assignments, in English.

Teacher Certification – 3 simple steps:

  1. Submit the UMaine System Application.
  2. Provide official copies of transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.
  3. Send 2 letters of recommendation.
