Camp Invention

Camp Invention

UMPI is pleased to present Camp Invention, the nation’s premier summer enrichment day camp program supported by the National Inventors Hall of Fame and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. This week-long camp, especially for students in grades 1 through 6, fosters innovation and creativity while also building self-esteem, teamwork, persistence, and goal-setting skills.

We are delighted to have Elaine Hendrickson, the 2001 Maine Teacher of the Year, as our Camp Director once again this summer, and we’re welcoming back local educator Lisa Dow and introducing Halina Herzog as our newest instructor. Get ready to LAUNCH!  This year’s mission takes the children out of this world to locate and prepare a new planet for human habitation.  Mission Control sends teams challenges to design inventions that transform the atmosphere, terrain, and ecosystems of an exoplanet.  They set up a Space Lab to hatch eggs and grow crystal trees, take on the jobs of tomorrow, and explore beyond our galaxy. For questions about this year’s program, please contact Hendickson at elaine.hendrickson@gmail.com.  If you would like to register, you may do so at Campinvention.org

If you like to make things from parts and pieces of other things, come to camp! Your ideas will turn the ordinary into the extraordinary because, at Camp Invention, your imagination rules!
