The UMPI/Community Band, conducted by Jon Simonoff, is composed of local and traveling musicians from middle school age to retired music teachers, and includes University of Maine at Presque Isle students, faculty, and staff as well as local community members.

The band generally practices during the regular school year and then hosts Winter and Spring concerts. Music performed ranges from classic band literature, settings of choral music for concert band, marches, and contemporary works.

The band has been playing for 15 years and is always looking for additional members. Anyone who has experience playing an instrument and is interested in joining the band is welcome to attend rehearsals. For more information, contact Simonoff at jonrsimonoff@gmail.com.
